The Big Barn
Welome followers, new followers and viewers for the tail end of October. The air is crisp, the wind is blowing the leaves around in circles. I think this is my favorite season! I just love the colors of the leaves! My Giveaway was not successful . Did not receive any responces, but no worries i do plan on doing another every month with different items. So please keep posted!  We have a family halloween party every year and this year is going to be awesome because we are holding it in the Big Barn! Fun for all the kids an adults. We have games, costumes, food, crafts and this year the costumes are being judged and adding a Flashlight Pumpkin Hunt! ( they hunt for pumpkins in the dark!).  We will be partying with the cows! lol!
Even though the kids are growing up and not wanting too much with the dressing up part they do tend to have fun gathering with the family. When they grow up and out on their own, i hope they can remember the fun with the famliy gatherings.

Checking out the pond!

Skipping rocks!

Test Driving the pond!

Finally Finished my fall Decorating! Here are a few pics. My husband finished the pond that he just put in, they took it for a test drive after the tremendous rain we had a few weeks ago. It's run by a natural spring underground and it just needed that extra rain to fill it up. so sorry people mother nature was just helping to fill our pond! He's such a talented man! I call him my McGiver cause he like's to build thing from hardly nothing at all.

Been busy making my fall items, I now have them complete. My  booth at the Grapevine Antique & Craft Mall is now fully set up and loaded with my fall items and they are selling fast. Still need to add some more decorations but all else is done.  Really enjoyed setting everything up I created my space to my likings. Background is created with old doors and some barn wood, have my make do chair in it, baskets, wooden boxes and such. I will have to take a pic and post it. For now take a peek at my pics on my picturetrail. Have a great week!

Had a very nice Saturday to myself.  Plans to go Pickin' went pretty well. Stopped at a few yard & Barn sales. I did find some nice things like wooden boxes (had oil stains but a little oven cleaner will clean it up),  a wooden Ironing board for $5.00, some canning jars, Decorative wooden bowl (sand it down and repaint it),  an out house door, Rolling pins and some other primtives items. I had to stop at my favorite primitive antique shop for inspiration and ended up getting two  pieces for my booth display.  And the best part I didn't come home BROKE! It was an enjoyable day.

Yes off to find some treasure!  Still creating more fall prims for my booth at Grapevine antiques, Brodheadsville, PA. If you live in or near the Poconos stop by and check the place out. It's on face book too.

Primitives Really Make you feel good!

Yes I have been really busy making my Fall items check out my picture trail to see what is available. I am also proud to say that I have won 1st place and Best in Show for our County Fair's Scarecrow Contest! WooHoo! Check out the pic! Pattern is from Lucy's Lazy Day Primitives for the small but i had to enlarge the pattern for the large scarecrow.  I was only going to enter the large scarecorw but my youngest son encouraged me to enter both and go with the fair theme "Proud of our Heritage" and yes then and there my wheels were turning! Got the Crock, cabbage cutter and Jar of sauerkraut that we made, a watering can and rake. My theory of the idea was the father teaching the son how to plant and grow the cabbage and then make it into sauerkraut! wha la! Didn't really expect to win cause not everyone is into the prims but took a shot. I did what I like instead of thinking what someone else would be looking for. Needless to say when I went to the fair and looked around the corner to go and see the scarecrows and saw the sign for best in show was displayed at "MY" Scarecrow. I was overwhelmed! I had tears! My son just laughs and says your such a sap!

WOW!  and there are still more hangin on the vine!  Can't see them go to waste though probably find other tomatoie things to make.  Sounds like a lot but less we have to buy in the store and you know what goes in it!  YUM! YUM! Been also working on fall primitives I will be posting shortly. Than you for being patient.

Finally starting to squeeze in some of my crafting while I sit and watch my youngest son practice football. It also keeps my mind off of the body slamming they do. I also have been trying to get items ready for my son and myself to enter in our county fair, canning our vegetables, working outside the home. Too many things at one time! Veggies can't wait, gotta do them as they ripen. They will taste good this winter. I will post my items I am entering in the fair in a fews days. just need to get them prepared for this saturday when they need to be entered.  Be sure to keep posted I am adding more photos to my picturetrail of items I am selling.

It's been a busy summer. Everyone knows when there are kids and work to do there is no time for anything else but time goes by quicker. The heat has done a number on things need to keep watering so things don't dry out. Especially when you have your flowers in pots or odd containers ( I used what I found in the barn or on the property burried beneath the leaves and dirt. Old crumpled bucket, the agate bowls and such. The look on my husbands face when he saw all the junk we came home with! Well lets just say... ah... the look tells all! (I just laugh!) But till I filled them with dirt and flowers it makes it all look better. I said it didn't cost me a dime for the container just the dirt and flowers, and you know how the containers are even at Walmart. So why not dig up the old and reuse it! Schools almost in and then I can get back to my crafting and decorating. I did add a few pieces to my home of which I will post shortly and I will be posting my homemade items that are for sale. So check back. See you soon....
